History of the CABINET product

CABINET (named ROLAND EXCLUSIV until 1988) has been existing in Germany since 1979 and since 1989 in Austria and Switzerland. This long standing makes it the by far oldest and most experienced programme of this type in Germany.

The first cabinets manufactured in 1979 required licenses and components from North America, as the construction principle was completely new in the German-speaking territory at that time. While a German cabinet looked (more or less) like a box placed in front of the wall, with doors in the front and wasting much space above, below and on the sides, the 'American' built-in cabinet utilized the whole space with millimetre precision, thus making room at last.
