HOW THE SLIDING DOORS LEARNT TO WALK

In 1978, CABINET founder and owner Michael Greven, who was then an importer of technical products for closet construction, came across a completely different cupboard concept than was usual in Germany on his travels through Northern America (and subsequently also other parts of the world): There, cupboard doors were held by rails in the floor and ceiling, usually closed off an alcove and were not connected to the cupboard interior. That was the "Eureka" moment: wonderful design options opened up.

The long path of development and refinement, which had started in 1979, ultimately led to the CABINET system of today: Numerous patented elements have been added over the years, resulting in a programme of perfectly functioning built-in cupboards with sliding doors. The German brand manufacturer CABINET can therefore build on over three decades of experience.

At the same time as the business was being developed - and this proved to be very significant - a competent service and distribution network was set up, which now comprises over 100 CABINET agents in Western Europe (Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland). They all exhibit informative examples in their showrooms as well as information material on CABINET and offer competent advice with computer-assisted planning as well as comprehensive service from measurements taken on site via delivery to assembly, including a function guarantee for the roller system of the sliding doors.

And CABINET remains a pioneer of new ideas: These include, for instance, CABIvision® (television without TV set) and CABIprint®, the possibility of customising a cupboard with a printed motif of your choice (be it a work of art, a photo, a pattern etc.). But the numerous useful and beautiful accessories that allow you to put your personal stamp on your cupboard interior are also important features.

In 2009, the family company will celebrate its 30-year competence anniversary.
